Svensk stirring up sales with Bergman and Brisinger

Svensk Filmindustri AB’s head of sales Ann-Kristin Westerberg said that Stig Björkman’s portrayal of Ingmar Bergman in Images from the Playground has been picked up by Italy (Teodora Film) and was in negotiation with several other territories, including Japan.

The documentary film that screened in Cannes Classics, will premiere at the Barbican cinema in London next June as part of a retrospective on the Swedish master’s films.

Westerberg also attracted buyers’ interest with Johan Brisinger’s Among Us (Änglavakt) thanks to its star names attached: Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo [+see also:

), Isabella Scorupco (former James bond girl) and French actor Tcheky Karyo. It is is currently filming in Sweden.

Teresa Fabik’s youth film Starring Maja (Prinsessa), shown as a work in progress, received interest from France and Germany. Commenting on this year’s Cannes Market, Westerberg said that there were definitely fewer people around but she was still very happy about the meetings she had.
