Ten films by ten emerging European directors are part of this year's Variety Critics' Choice: Europe Now! section of the 44 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (July 3-11, 2009).

The ten titles have been selected by the critics of international trade paper Variety in association with European Film Promotion (EFP). Directors (or cast members) will attend the festival to promote the films and participate in a Q&A with audiences.

Following preceding collaborations with the EFP, Cineuropa is once again an associate of the initiative and presents exclusive interviews with the selected filmmakers.
