Erfurt to host first KIDS Regio Forum

From June 24-25, the German city of Erfurt will host the first edition of KIDS Regio Forum. The event is organised by the Thuringian state ministry, the MDM (Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung) regional fund and members of the Cine Regio network.
Over 100 participants (writers, directors, producers, agents, distributors, TV professionals, investors and so forth) representing 16 European countries will discuss the future of children’s film in Europe. Together, they will try to identify problems and challenges, as well as possible solutions.
Subjects to be debated include film financing, co-production opportunities, the cultural diversity of the children’s film market and theatrical distribution of this type of cinema. The conclusions of each discussion will serve as a basis to put pressure on political authorities, financiers and television networks.
