Wenders pays homage to Pina Bausch
At the start of October, Wim Wenders will begin shooting a documentary about the famous choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in July. The 21-day shoot will take place in North Rhine-Westphalia (whose regional fund has just granted €650,000 in production support).
Originally a joint project between the Tanztheater founder and the renowned filmmaker, Pina has become, after Bausch ‘s death, a homage to her work by the Wuppertaler Tanztheater troupe. The captivating gestures and movements invented by Pina will be magnified onscreen thanks to 3D technology.
Pina is co-produced by Road Movies Berlin and French company Eurowide Film Production.
