Many European (co)-prods in competition at Tokyo

The 22nd edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), Asia's oldest such film event, will run from October 20-25. Approximately 270 films make up the programme, as announced by TIFF Chairman Tom Yoda and Hideyuki Takai, president of UNIJAPAN, at the festival's press conference.

The festival will also host TIFFCOM 2009, which covers three different events: TIFFCOM, the content business market; Seminar@TIFFCOM, a business symposium focused on industrial trends; and Tokyo Project Gathering (TPG) , the international co-production market for features and animated films, held from October 19-22.
