Black Nights launch Industry Screenings

by

The 13th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF, November 28-December 7) will launch a new regional cinema and audiovisual market, Black Market Industry Screenings, from November 30-December 3.

The goal of these new industry screenings is to enhance audiovisual cooperation on both sides of the eastern border of the European Union and the Nordic countries, and to give filmmakers greater visibility and access to the rest of the world. Up to 48 industry screenings are scheduled, from Central and Eastern Europe, the five Nordic countries, Russia, as well as Georgia, the Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

The traditional Baltic Event, now organized in cooperation with Black Market Industry Screenings, will focus on the newest films from the three Baltic territories, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Also from November 30-December 3, the Baltic Event Co-production Market will celebrate its fifth anniversary with the presentation of 12 feature projects – from the Baltic and Nordic countries, Central/Eastern Europe and Russia – looking for co-production and co-financing partners.

Another novelty this year is the literary rights market Books To Films, which will promote literary works from the region.
