, Danish auteur filmmaker Lars von Trier is going to explore a new genre, the disaster movie, with Melancholia, set to start shooting next summer.

The €5m project will be produced by Meta Louise Foldager and Louise Vesth for Zentropa, with sales to be handled by TrustNordisk.

The Danish enfant terrible described his project with his usual sense of catchy one-liners: “No more happy endings!” was his only comment.

Meanwhile, Antichrist, for which Charlotte Gainsbourg won a Best Actress nod in Cannes last May, is shortlisted for the European Film Awards nominations and is one of five Nordic contenders for the Nordic Council Film Prize.
