37 projects selected for Co-production Market
The 7th Berlinale Co-production Market (February 14-16), organised in cooperation with the MDM Fund and the EU’s MEDIA Programme, will enable the producers and directors of 37 projects (representing 22 countries) to meet 450 potential partners.
Over two days, more than 1000 face-to-face meetings will be organised, thus keeping up the market’s level of success (40% of the projects presented, i.e. 90 films, have been brought to fruition).
The selection comprises 23 features (from among 354 contenders) by young talents and renowned directors (including, this year, Marco Bechis and Jánosz Szász). Their budget (between €1-7m) must be 30% secured by a producer with international experience.
Three other projects will be presented as part of the Rotterdam-Berlinale Express, and 11 talents (out of 267 applicants) will be selected for the Talent Project Market.
