Short Slovak documentary Arsy-Versy and Czech feature-length documentary Phantom of Liberty II have been selected this year's South By Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas (March 12–21).

Selected for the SX Global section, Arsy-Versy is an intimate portrait of an aging mother and her son, whose hobby is taking photographs of bats. Directed by Miro Remo, the film received the Silver Eye Special Mention at the East Silver Market 2009.

Phantom of Liberty II explores the ways in which time affects our daily lives, behaviour, actions and habits. Directed by Karel Žalud and produced by Jiří Konečný of Endorfilm, the film was one of five films included in the project Breathless: Dominance of the Moment, a Czech/German co-production.

Arsy-Versy and Phantom of Liberty II will also screen in the upcoming ZagrebDox documentary festival.

Both films were submitted as part of the East Silver Caravan selection by East Silver, the first documentary market dedicated exclusively to Central and Eastern Europe. East Silver is organized by the Institute of Documentary Film, whose main partner is the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival.
