European films fill Febiofest line up

The Febiofest international film festival has unveiled the programme and international guests of its 17th edition, running March 25–April 3 in Prague.

The festival will screen four opening films, three of which are European productions: Polish-born actress Hanna Schygulla will present Rainer Werner Fassbinder's classic The Marriage of Maria Braun. Czech director Olga Špátová will present the world premiere of her documentary The Eye Above Prague, which maps the life and work of architect Jan Kaplický. American emigre director Sherry Hormann will introduce her German film Desert Flower [+see also:

. Opening-night audiences can also see Everybody's Fine, a US remake of Giuseppe Tornatore's 1990 flm Stanno tutti bene.

In addition to the filmmakers mentioned above, Febio Fest will also welcome Fanny Ardant, Terence Davies, Bruno Dumont, Bruno Ganz, Martin Huba and Gaspar Noé as guests.

Febiofest screenings will take place in three cinemas in Prague as well as in the towns of Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Liberec, Brno, Olomouc and Ostrava.
