Festival breaks new records

The 60th anniversary edition of the Berlinale closed with the Bear Awards presentation ceremony on February 20 and the audience day on February 21. Over 11 days, the festival hosted not only a panoply of stars and films (including a restored version of Metropolis, which had an open-air screening in the snow in front of over 2,000 people), but also a record number of viewers: around 300,000 admission tickets were sold.

Professionals proved to be just as keen, with almost 20,000 accredited visitors from 122 countries, including 4,000 journalists.
