film profile], Viennese thesp Christoph Waltz last night also won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
Waltz, who works a lot in television, featured in Wolfgang Murnberger’s Alpine thriller Lapislazuli: In the Eye of the Bear. He also appeared in several international productions before Inglourious Basterds, including 2001 US film Pact with the Devil (to name one of the most recent).
After his hilarious performance as a white-gloved scoundrel in Tarantino’s film, he will grace screens in Michel Gondry’s next work, The Green Hornet, and will stay in the US for two other films, including perhaps Kevin Costner’s next directorial project.
