Richard Dindo’s new documentary, Gauguin In Tahiti and the Marquesas Islands (as yet unreleased in Switzerland) has been selected in competition at the Cinéma du Réel Film Festival in Paris (March 18-30) and the Montreal International Festival of Films on Art (March 19-29).

With Gauguin’s words – letters and writings – and his painting as its central theme, Dindo’s film paints a portrait of this artist who chose exile and a return to nature to escape from the industrialised world.
