At its latest meeting, the Munich-based institution decided to open a new head office in the German capital. Jochem Strate (Exportfilm Bischoff) and Michael Weber (The Match Factory) were also appointed as new members of the board of directors.

DVFE was one of the three founder partners of German Films (formerly known as Export-Union of German Cinema) fifty-six years ago. Alongside its role as a pressure group, the DVFE also offers advice and support in drawing up sector regulations, in particular the new German film law and the intellectual property law reform.

DVFE currently has 18 members (including Bavaria International, Constantin Film Verleih and ARRI Media Worldsales), and belongs to the Umbrella Organisation for the Film Industry (SPIO - Spitzenorganisation der Filmwirtschaft).
