Turin-based Wildside is launched
by Camillo de Marco
Producers Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani, from Wilder and Offside respectively, have chosen Cannes to present their new film and television production company Wildside, which will be headquartered in Turin’s Cineport.
Film and television: two different experiences join forces, supported by the President of Turin Piedmont Film Commission Steve Della Casa, who predicts an encouraging spin-off for Piedmont, given Wildside’s aims of generating a turnover of €10 million a year for three years. The first projects in the pipeline include a made-for-TV Christmas/road movie; the film Mia sorella è una foca monaca by Marco Martani; the 8-part TV saga The Medici (a €16 million blockbuster courtesy of SKY, BBC 2, and ZDF); and a film based on Emma Dante’s novel "Via Castellana Bandiera".
Currently Piedmont is hosting film shoots for Il gioiellino by Andrea Molaioli and L'illusione del bene by Cristina Comencini.
