Cinecitta' Luce has acquired from Mandragora International the documentary film The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu [+see also:

film profile] by Romanian director Andrei Ujica.

Presented at the Cannes Film Festival out of competition, the film is a work of editing of never-before-seen material from the Romanian archives, which shows an extraordinary re-elaboration of over 1000 hours of images the Ceausescu dictatorship from 1965 to 1989.

"We’re happy to launch our international sales brand with this unique film, and that its Italian release will be through Cinecittà Luce," said Bobby Paunescu, president of Mandragora.
