, starring US actor Danny Glover and Swedish actress Tuva Novotny, has been selected among the 17 features competing for the Golden St George at the 32nd Moscow International Film Festival (June 17-26). Luc Besson is presiding over the main competition jury.

Othman’s feature debut About Sara won Moscow’s top award in 2006. The director of Ugandan origin left his country for Sweden with his family in 1975, to escape Idi Amin's regime. In 1991 he graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, where he obtained a BA in Film and Television production. He worked for a while for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment before producing his own films for One Tired Brother Productions, a company he co-founded with Malin Holmberg-Karim.

Dear Alice tells the story of four very different lives and how their paths come to cross by a series of circumstances. During what seems to be just an ordinary day, these four people are making everyday decisions that at the moment seem to be trivial but lead, ultimately, to a life-changing and violently destructive end.

The film was produced by One Tired Brother Productions and Greta Film, in co-production with Nordisk Film and with support from the Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The Swedish release through Nordisk Film is set for July 9. TrustNordisk handles world sales.

Another Swedish film, 7X: This Is Our Kids by first-time director Emil Jonsvik, is selected in Moscow’s Perspectives Competition, chaired by English filmmaker John Irvin. The film is a portrayal of the harsh reality of life, where the search for dignity takes explosive turns.
