22 European titles in competitions at Palic

Founded in 1992, the Palic Film Festival near Subotica, in northernmost Serbia, in 2003 became the Festival of European Film Palic and a member of the European Coordination of Film Festivals. As such, it is now an important point on the film map of the Balkan and Central European regions.

For its 17th edition, running July 17-23, Palic will present 12 films in the main competition, ten in the Parallels and Encounters competition, 20 shorts, documentaries and animated films in the Young Spirits section (including Disco and Atomic War [+see also:

). As well as sidebars of new Belgian and Hungarian cinema, a tribute to Serbian auteur Zelimir Zilnik in the Underground Spirit section, and retrospective tributes of films by Costa-Gavras and Goran Markovic.
