The tradition of a partner country in Motovun extends back to 2004 when the first partner was Dalmatia. The idea is to present the cinema and culture of a country, region or a city, and past partners have included Vienna, Vojvodina, Finland and Russia.

Motovun will further present the most important Slovenian films from the past 20 years, including Kozole’s Spare Parts, Jan Cvitkovic’s Bread and Milk, Andrej Kosak’s Headnoise, Janez Burger’s Idle Running and Janez Lapajne’s Short Circuits.

Legendary Slovenian filmmaker Karpo Godina will serve as the president of the main jury and enjoy a tribute programme.

The 2010 Motovun Film Festival runs July 26-30.
