Of the film's estimated €750,000 budget, the Romanian National Film Centre gave a production grant of €135,000 while another €110,000 came from Eurimages. Romania’s HiFilm is majority producing, with Movie Partners in Motion Film (France), Cor Leonis Films LTD (Hungary) and 4 Proof Film (Romania) co-producing.

Scripted by the director, From Love with Best Intentions describes the painful experiences of Alex, a successful young man who must deal with the unexpected illness of his mother.

Like Hooked, the new project will also use POV shots, and be lensed by DoP Adrian Silisteanu. Sitaru told Cineuropa: “As far as I’m concerned, the film's biggest challenge lies in the use of more stylish POV shots. In Hooked we only had exteriors and now we have mainly interiors. Only the points of view of the characters around Alex will be used.”

From Love with Best Intentions is expected to be released domestically in autumn of 2011. It does not yet have an international sales agent.

Sitaru's debut feature began as a no-budget project to became a co-production when Movie Partners in Motion Film and have post-production backed by Arte. Hooked premiered in Venice Days at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival (see news) and went on to win the Special Jury Award and the ex-aequo Best Actress Award for Ioana Flora and Maria Dinulescu at the Thessaloniki Film Festival later that year.
