Tykwer’s Three heads German contingent on Lido

Three German (co)productions have been invited to the Competition of the 67th Venice Film Festival (September 1-11). First up is the fully German project Three by Tom Tykwer, produced by X-Filme Creative Pool.

The other two titles are co-productions: Pablo Larraín’s Post Morten (Chile/Mexico/Germany - Autentika Films), and Italian director Saverio Costanzo’s The Solitude of Prime Numbers, co-produced with France and Germany’s Bavaria Film.

Horizons will be presenting the short films Atom by Markus Loeffler and Andrée Korpys, The External World by David O’Reilly and Future Archeology (Italy/Germany) by Armin Linke and Francesco Mattuzzi; as well as Laura Amelia Guzmán’s feature film Jean Gentil, a Dominican co-production with Germany’s Baerbel Mauch Film.

The 7th Venice Days sidebar, directed by Giorgio Gosetti, will screen Marion Haensel’s Black Ocean, co-produced by Neue Pegasos; and Oscar winner Danis Tanovic’s Cirkus Columbia [+see also:

Also during Venice Days, the three finalists for the 2010 LUX Prize will be screened, including Feo Aladag’s When We Leave [+see also:

The winner of the International Jury’s Special Prize in 2009, Fatih Akin, has been invited to serve as the jury president for the Luigi De Laurentiis Lion of the Future Award. The award is given to the best debut film from any of the sections.
