The story inspired Von Borries, who has also co-written screenplays for other directors (he penned The Three Robbers with Hayo Freitag and the forthcoming Lilly the Witch , to be released by Walt Disney in February 2011).

Vier Tage im Mai is co-produced by X Filme Creative Pool and Russian company ZAO Studia F.A.F. Shooting will take place between Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania until mid-September.
