Andrzej Wajda Master School launches call for European projects

by

For the seventh time, the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing is organising the selection for its European training programme EKRAN, which focuses on the pre-production process. Registration is open until November 15, 2010. The 11 selected projects will be the focus of close cooperative work between directors, screenwriters, producers and possibly DoPs.

The main aim of the programme is to write the screenplay and direct two scenes. The organisers plan to help participants to find the film’s visual language and develop the narrative through images, but they also give them the opportunity to experiment with the casting process and work on the film’s marketing strategy.

The programme includes treatment and/or screenplay development, group analyses and individual consultations about the screenplay, casting, shoot, editing and evaluation (analysis of filmed scenes), pitching and promotion of the film.

The training programme is open to professionals who speak fluent English and have already directed a feature film or several shorts. Details about applications are available on the website by clicking here.

The European programme EKRAN is organised by the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing, in collaboration with FOCAL (Switzerland), the Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW Film Fund), Cologne International Film School, the Netherlands Film Institute (NFI) and the Budapest University of Film and Theatrical Art, with backing from the Polish Film Institute and the European Union’s MEDIA Programme.
