Members of the Roos Awards Committee 2010 Henrik Bo Nielsen, DFI CEO, Malene Flindt Pedersen, DFI Head of Development; and last year's winner director Anders Østergaard and producer Lise Lense-Møller said about Skree: “He has a sharp aesthetical eye and a wide range of professional skills. He masters effortlessly the 'staged' and 'real' setting within documentary, as well as poetic reflection and raw drama. He is willing to go to great lengths to bring back his images; and with an intensity that puts his life on the line. Lars Skree is yin and yang; a tough guy, yet a poet, combat soldier, yet a graceful line dancer.”
Skree graduated as Director of Photography from the National Film School of Denmark in 1997. He received several awards for his previous documentaries such as Jeppe Rønde’s The Swenkas and Janus Metz’s Love on Delivery.
Armadillo continues its amazing climb of the Danish box office. The film has now passed 116,000 admissions after 13 weeks. The winner of a Grand Prize at the Cannes Critics Week 2010 opened last weekend in Sweden (via Folkets Bio) and in Norway (Arthaus) and was supported by rave reviews. The Fridthjof Film will soon screen at Toronto’s Reel to Real sidebar.
