Nainsukh: a Swiss production at Venice

Swiss production Nainsukh, directed by India’s Amit Dutta, is competing in the Horizons section at the 67th Venice Film Festival. Evoking the work by 18th century Indian miniature painter Nainsukh, the feature is produced by Musée Rietberg of Zurich and Dr Eberhard Fischer, an Indian art specialist, who – according to the filmmaker – was involved from the early days of the film “well beyond its production”.

This is not the first time that Amit Dutta has presented a film at Venice. His debut feature The Man’s Woman and Other Stories received a special mention of the jury last year.
