Public consultation launched on future of MEDIA programme

The European Commission is today launching a public consultation on the future of the MEDIA programme which supports the European audiovisual sector. This consultation is part of a broader consultation whose aim is to sound out opinion in order to put together a new MEDIA programme which will replace the current one for the period 2014-2020.

The possible social, economic and environmental impacts will be assessed. The Commission will take account of responses to this consultation in order to put together a proposal in the hope that the European Parliament and Council will adopt a decision introducing a new programme for the audiovisual sector for 2014 and beyond.

The following can send their contribution: “all individuals, public and private organisations, local and regional authorities, ministries and all parties involved in the audiovisual sector, in the European Union and elsewhere, as well as in the institutions and associations of the European Union”.
