Co-written by the director and Claudio Piersanti, the film centres on the comparison between two complementary figures in the media circus, "two experiences of success, two forms of popularity, one burned out in a single episode, the other carefully managed", commented Cappuccio. Here we have a former star who, 20 years after his only million record-selling song, appears on TV as a "one-time celebrity"; and an international diva who has arrived in Italy to promote her latest work.

Amid the paparazzi flashes and attention from gossip mags, his inadequacy and her whims, the two end up on the same plane bound for the States. Maybe even Piero will get to taste the American dream there.

Unexpected events and bizzarre characters (played by an abundant cast, including Iaia Forte as Piero’s ex-wife and Roberto De Francesco) are the accompanying ingredients of a comedy that focuses a great deal on its two lead actors: "Solfrizzi is one of Italy’s most versatile and likeable actors”, continued Cappuccio, “and he’s also Apulian, and few things make me laugh more than the Apulian dialect and likeability. Apulia is Italy’s California”. As for Belén, who got her break on TV in L’isola dei Famosi, “she is a wry and witty woman, who will light up the film".

Filmed between Apulia (with the participation of Apulia Film Commission), Rome and Texas, Se Sei Così, Ti Dico Sì is produced by Duea Film (headed by Pupi and Antonio Avati, who came up with the original idea) and Medusa Film, who will release it in 2011.
