Producer of the Year Arcopinto sets to work on Ruggine
by Cineuropa
Ruggine (“Rust”) is the title of Daniele Gaglianone’s new film, produced by Gianluca Arcopinto for Fandango. This film noir, which is currently shooting, centres on some children who live in a small town in Northern Italy in the 1970s.
"It will be Daniele’s first film with a real cast of professional actors", Arcopinto told CinecittàNews at the awards ceremony at FICE’s Arthouse Cinema Meetings, where last night he received the Best Producer of the Year Award. The film will indeed star Filippo Timi, Stefano Accorsi, Valeria Solarino and Valerio Mastandrea.
Arcopinto has two other films in the pipeline: Carlo Michele Schirinzi’s debut feature Le Vesti di Bisanzio (“Byzantium’s Clothes”), which looks at the Salento region, the destination for a continuous flow of migrants; and Rodolfo Bisatti’s third title Silent Wars. Co-produced with Slovenia, the latter film is set in Trieste and unflinchingly describes the post-war situation in the Balkans.
