MARKET Italy

Positive balance for Business Street

by

The Rome International Film Festival market Business Street closed yesterday, after seeing a 10% increase in the number of accredited buyers and sellers over 2009. This despite the fact that this year’s event took place just days before the American Film Market (November 3-10), during a period still in the throes of a financial crisis and market downturn.

"The figures exceeded all of our expectations,” says market director Roberto Cicutto. "I won’t deny the satisfaction that I and all my collaborators feel in seeing rewarded a formula that guarantees not only the presentation of new films on the market and a matchless platform for co-producers to meet, but also a place where those working in the field can exchange opinions, announce development plans and new distribution platforms, get to know European audiovisual plain and gain access through Industry Books to still-unpublished stories in order to check out their film and/or television potential. In brief, a place where the future of the audiovisual industry is planned".
