, filming is mainly taking place in the director’s native region, although this time there will be a few scenes shot in Iceland.

Scripted by Fernández, the film centres on Alejandro and Guillermo, two brothers from Asturias who have been nature lovers since childhood. The former has become a sort of zoology legend: an adventurer who researches life in the wild, living in the trees like an animal, but without money or equipment for his research.

For his part, Guillermo is an internationally-renowned biologist who dedicates his life to studying climate change. After realising the battle is lost, he drops everything, returns to Asturias and goes in search of his brother in the woods where he lives.

The film stars Javier Cámara and Gonzalo de Castro as the two brothers, alongside Emma Suárez, Geraldine Chaplin, Oona Chaplin, Jesse Johnson and child actress Sira García.

¿Para Qué Sirve un Oso? is produced by Versátil Cinema and Alta Producción, with backing from TVE and TVC. It will be released in Spain by Alta Films.
