Sky Song to spread wings at Animated Dreams

Mati Kütt, one of Estonia most respected animators, will open the Animated Dreams festival on November 19 with his stop-motion film Sky Song, produced by Arvo Nuut for Estonia’s 50-year-old Nukufilm studios. The 45-minute animation, which uses symbolism and an extensive range of materials and forms, tells the story of a postman who has to deliver a package.

Other films set to screen include Sylvain Chomet’s The Illusionist [+see also:

and The Mysterious Presages of León Prozak by Colombian animator Carlos Eduardo Santa. Estonia’s largest animation film festival will focus on Finnish indie animation and 25 years of animation at the Royal College of Art in the UK.

Animated Dreams, which takes place at the Sõprus and Artis cinemas in Tallinn, is a sub-festival of the Black Nights Film Festival, set top unspool this year from November 24-December 5.
