Cinemagic turns 20 by revealing Eleanor’s Secret

Belfast’s Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People (November 11-26) celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Opening the festival will be Dominique Monfery’s Eleanor's Secret [+see also:

. Tom McGrath’s Megamind will close.

The festival offers more than 100 film screenings from around the world – over 20 of which are UK/Irish previews and premieres. In addition there are over 60 workshops, competitions, masterclasses and other film-themed events.

Well-known industry professionals like Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, actors Jason Flemyng and Patrick Bergin, award-winning film music producers Maggie Rodford and David Julyan, casting agents Ros and John Hubbard and Belfast-born Dreamworks Animation animator Phil McNally are attending.

The festival will also premiere four Irish features – Maurice Linnane’s A Kiss for Jed Wood, Kerry Rooney’s Wasteland, Ian Power’s The Runway [+see also:

Cinemagic Chief Executive Joan Burney Keatings said, “We are delighted to present our 20th Anniversary Festival that offers fascinating film and television events for young people that are entertaining, educational and inspiring. With the support of our funders we have been able to increase the number of activities taking place. Cinemagic has grown hugely over the years and is a major event in the cultural calendar in Northern Ireland.”
