Winter’s Bone wins Turin, Henry gets Audience Award

US title Winter’s Bone by Debra Granik unanimously won the 28th Turin Film Festival, which closed Saturday with the European premiere of Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter (presented by co-star Cécile De France). A winner at Sundance and the Berlinale, Granik’s sophomore film won Best Film as well as Best Actress, for Jennifer Lawrence, ex aequo with Erica Rivas, star of Anahí Berneri’s Por tu culpa.

It was not only the ex aequo win this year. The Special Prize of the Jury (presided over by Marco Bellocchio) went both to the Canadian film Les signes vitaux by Sophie Deraspe and Guatemalan title (co-produced with France and Mexico) Las Marimbas del infierno by Julio Hernández Cordón.

Best Actor went to Omid Djalili, who single-handedly carries Josh Appignanesi’s comedy The Infidel [+see also:
