Kedma
After having described contemporary Israeli society in the three cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, and having told of the 1973 Kippur war, Gitaï returns to the origins of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Hundreds of survivors of the Holocaust crowd the bridge of the old cargo ship «Kedma». They come from the four corners of Europe and are headed toward Palestine. It is May, 1948, and Ben Gurion is about to proclaim the creation of the state of Israel. But as soon as the passengers set foot on the beach, the combat start: British soldiers are the first to try to prevent the landing, then the Arabs begin.
