Dutch audiences choose a Danish film

- "Catch that Girl" about a girl bank robber by H. F.Wullenweber wins the audience award at Cinekid - Amsterdam’s international children’s film festival

The debut feature by Danish director, Hans Fabian Wullenweber entitled Klatretøsen (Catch That Girl), won the audience award at the Cinekid international children’s film festival in Amsterdam, which ended last weekend.
Co-produced by Denmark’s Sandrew Metronome with Swedish and Norwegian partners, Klatretøsen is an action movie for children about a 12-year-old girl who decides to rob a bank: she needs the money to pay for her terminally-sick father’s medical care. The film was well-received at the last edition of the Berlinale, was released in Denmark, Germany and Norway and is scheduled for release in the Netherlands at the end of October 2002.
The « Cinekid Award » was shared by Iran’s The Little Bird Boy by Rahbar Sanbari and a Japanese animated feature by Hayao Miyazaki entitled Spirited Away. Miyazaki’s film won the Golden Bear at the 2002 Berlinale, and will be released in Holland in February 2003. The best TV series award went to Poppentie and De Famiglie Van der Ploeg, produced by state broadcaster, VPRO.
