Béart and Rivette together again
- A decade after La belle noiseuse, the actress and director are working on a new film together, Marie et Julien, on location in Paris until the end of November
Jacques Rivette is busy on the Parisian set of his latest film, Marie et Julien, starring Emmanuelle Béart. The film is scheduled to wrap on 22 November.
It was in Jacques Rivette, La belle noiseuse that was made 11 years ago and co-starred Michel Piccoli that Emmanuelle Béart came to the forefront of public attention. Rivette belongs to the French “nouvelle vague” movement alongside directors like Truffaut, Godard and Eric Rohmer. Like so many of his earlier films, Marie et Julien is produced by Pierre Grise Productions.
Marie et Julien will be distributed by Films du Losange who last year distributed Rivette’s Who Knows?, starring Sergio Castellitto and Jeanne Balibar.
