Michel Blanc wins the Henri Jeanson

by

French filmmaker, Michel Blanc is this year's winner of the Henri Jeanson award for his directing and screenwriting merits.
Set up five years ago by the French writers' and dramatic composers' association SACD through the Paul Milliet Foundation, the Jeanson award traditionally goes to the filmmaker whose "intellectual acuity, humour and dramatic power will perpetuate the memory of one of French cinema's most celebrated dialogue writers."
Past winners include Bertrand Blier in 2001, Dominik Moll and Gilles Marchand in 2000 and Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri in 1999. Earlier this year, Michel Blanc won an important award in Cannes for his screenplay entitled Grosse Fatigue. His latest film, Kiss whoever you want is currently enjoying a huge popular success. It is based on the novel "Vacances anglaises" and stars Carole Bouquet, Charlotte Rampling and Jacques Dutronc.
