05/11/2002 - Anand Tucker is to direct a film about Guy Fawkes, with a screenplay by Frank Cottrell-Boyce

The team behind award winning film, Hilary and Jackie, director Anand Tucker and scriptwriter Frank Cottrell-Boyce are planning to bring the story of Guy Fawkes to the big screen. Fawkes notoriously planned to blow up the British Houses of Parliament in 1605 during the reign of King James 1 and the event is commemorated all over the United Kingdom every 5 November with bonfires and fireworks displays. The Guy Fawkes project will be produced by Luc Roeg and Charles Finch’s Artists Independent Network.
