Change of guard at Miramax

- Colin Vaines is the new Executive Vice-President of European Production and Development based in London
The Disney-owned Miramax Films has revamped its London office by relocating its New York development chief,Colin Vaines to London and a new job as executive vice-president of European Production and Development.
Vaines was Head of Development at the UK Lottery franchise, The Film Consortium, before being hired by Miramax for whom he produced Michael Radford’s B. Monkey.
Meanwhile, Miramax’s head of film, Allon Reich, is leaving the London office for a new job at the Lottery franchise, DNA Films, the company behind Danny Boyle’s current UK box office hit 28 Days Later.
Miramax’s recent involvement in UK productions includes Stephen Frears’ Dirty Pretty Things, which opened the London Film Festival last night, and Heartlands, the new film by East is East director, Damien O’Donnell.
