Paris tribute to Beckerman
- A three-day retrospective of Austrian filmmaker Ruth Becker-man within the Centre Pompidou’s “Month of Documentary”
In the context of the “Month of Documentary”, the Centre Pompidou in Paris organises a tribute to the Austrian writer and filmmaker Ruth Beckermann. Six works of this important European artist, whose works showcase the history of Austria during the 20th century will be showcased: Ein flüchtiger Zug nach dem Orient (1999) – a trip to Egypt following the steps of Kaiserin Elisabeth, Jenseits des Krieges (1996) with Interviews of former “Wehrmacht” soldiers, the Jewish Trilogy Wien Retour - Franz West (Weintraub) 1924-1934 (1983), Die papierene Brücke (1987) and Nach Jerusalem (1990) as well as Beckermanns latest work Homemad(e) (2001), a portrait of the Vienna Marc Aurel Street.
