- The UK arm of French group will take over 11 films that were on Film Four’s slate for domestic and international distribution

Pathé Distribution, the UK distribution arm of French group Pathé, announced yesterday that it has agreed to take over 11 films that were still on Film Four’s slate for domestic and international distribution when the parent company Channel4 decided to absorb the film unit into its main Drama department.
The films part of the deal include Walter Salles’ Motorcycle Diaries currently shooting in Latin America, Thomas Vinterberg’s It’s All About Love, Michael Barker’s To Kill a King (in a split territories deal with Hanway films) Shane Meadows’ Once Upon a Time In The Midlands, but also Bodysong, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Gus van Sant’s Gerry, Principles of Lust, Cypher, Touching the Void and Miranda with Christina Ricci.
Channel 4 will retain the UK free TV and pay-TV rights while VCI will handle the video and DVD UK release on those titles.
In addition, Pathe will release in the UK three films that the company co-acquired last year with Film Four: Jeepers Creepers 2, Wrong Turn and Bulletproof Monk.
