Nackt in London

- Nackt by Doris Dorrie will inaugurate the 5th German Cinema Festival in London from 29 November to 5 December. The programme includes features, shorts and documentaries

A selection of recent German films with thirteen feature films, a retrospective dedicated to Christian Petzold, a documentary series entitled German Dox and the Next Generation 2002 programme of shorts are among the highlights of the 5th Festival of German Cinema in London from 29 November to 5 December. The inaugural film, Nackt by Doris Dorrie, will be presented by its two stars, Heike Makatsch and Mehmet Kurtulus.
The main programme will showcase Baby by Phillip Stoelz, Halbe Treppe by Andreas Dresen, Love the Hard Way by Peter Sehr, Sophiiie by Michael Hoffman and Vater by Dani Levy – all of which will be presented by the directors. Also being screened are The Middle of Nowhere by Nathalie Steinbart, Fuehrer Ex by Winfried Bonengel, Null Uhr 12 by Bernd Michael Lade, Manitou’s Shoe by Michael Herbig and The Longing by Iain Dilthey.
Six documentaries were selected for the "German Dox" section, organised by the Goethe Institut of London. The titles include Absolut Warhola by Stanislaw Mucha and Missing Allen by Christian Bauer. The festival’s guest directors also include Douglas Wolfsperger with Bellaria, Angela Christlieb and Stephen Kijack with Cinemania, Sonja Heiss with Karma Cowboy and Vanessa van Houten, and Queens of Dust by Antje Kruska and Judith Keil.
The “Next Generation 2002” programme of shorts includes a discussion forum with British film students with filmmaker and co-director of the German-French Film Academy, Peter Sehr and Vera Lalyko, a student at the Academy for Media Arts in Cologne (KHM) and director of a short entitled Window With A View will represent the German contingent.
