Morton Kongrød is the new CEO

All change at the top for Scandinavian media giant, Sandrew Metronome when Morton Kongrød takes over as CEO from Klas Olofsson, who retires on 1 March 2003.
Kongrød, 43, is currently senior VP for TV, film and publishing at Norway’s Schibsted and is also the current chairman of the Sandrew Metronome board. He will become head of Sandrew Metronome Sweden and the entire Sandrew Metronome Group, with film and video distribution.
Klas Olofsson, 60, a former head of the Swedish Film Institute, founded Sandrew Metronome in 1998 by merging Norway's largest media concern, Schibsted with Sweden’s Anders Sandrews Foundation. Sandrews’ contribution to the deal included their Stockholm-based exhibition subsidiary Sandrew Film, that included a 100-screen cinema circuit in Sweden, as well as video and TV distribution and a film library of some 300 mainly Scandinavian titles. Schibsted brought with them Norwegian distributor, Norsk Film Distribusjon, Danish distributor Warner & Metronome, Danish theatres and a catalogue of 130 features.
During Olofsson's reign, the company doubled its annual turnover to reach USDollars120 million.
Morten Kongrod has a vast 20-year-long experience of the Scandinavian media and marketing industries.
