Belfort looks to the future
- "Entre Vues", specialised in first films, ends after focusing on the rebirth of German cinema
The 17th edition of the Entre Vues international festival in Belfort, France unrolled from 23 November to 1 December. Specialised in first films by young directors, this year’s jury decided to share the Feature Film Gran Prix between Klassenfahrt by Germany’s Henner Winklerand and Mirror by Canada’s Hakan Sahin. The Gran Prix for best French film went to Jean-Charles Fitoussi for Les jour où je n’existe pas while Serge Bozon won the “Léo Scherrer” award for Mods.
This year’s festival focused on the renewal of German cinema and the films showcased in Belfort have a good chance of being distributed in France. Last year’s winner, a feature entitled Wesh, wesh, qe’est-ce qui se passe directed in DV and also produced by Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche was a hit.
