Documentary-makers in Athens
- A 5-day seminar starts 9 December featuring industry meetings and professional collaboration
The European Documentary Network has organised a first seminar for documentary makers. The five-day event is scheduled to run in Athens from 9-13 December 2002 and was designed to bring the participants up-to-speed about the latest techniques and trends in international documentary making.
The seminar was created for professional TV and film documentary makers, producers, heads of TV programming and film distributors, and the programme includes the screening of a number of exemplary documentary films from all over the world, followed by a discussion and careful analysis of their critical and/or popular success.
One of the aims of the seminar is to educate filmmakers how best to promote Greek values and culture on the international market.
It is hoped that the seminar will give filmmakers working in this genre a number of important tips on how to producer and promote their films, and how to watch and select films in a wider international context.
The European Documentary network is a meeting point for all professionals who work in the documentary field and was set up in September 1996 and its members include filmmakers, producers, production companies, distributors, associations, film institutions & boards, universities and festivals, broadcasters and film & television agencies. The Network focuses on facilitating co-production and other forms of cross-border collaboration.
