The follow-up to French director Christophe Gans’ animated film featuring Bob Morane, is to be a prehistoric saga entiteld “Rahan”, created in the late sixties by screenwriter Roger Lecureux and artist André Chéret. Gans bought the film rights to the cartoon series of stories and the film is scheduled to go into production in 2004 in collaboration with the Xilam Animation studios.
In the meantime, Gans, who directed Le Pacte des Loups (seen by a global audience of almost 10 million), is getting ready to direct L’Avventurier in January 2003. It is a live-action based on the cartoon character called “Bob Morane”, created by Henri Verne. Produced by Eskwad, a subsidiary of StudioCanal that is managed by Richard Grandpierre, L’Avventurier is set in the fifties in Asia and London and the star of the film will very likely be Billy (Almost Famous) Crudup.
