by

The EU’s Media Plus Programme has announced it will support all the initiatives of European Film Promotion (EFP) planned for 2003.
This is the first time that the Media Plus Programme has funded a full year of EFP events, prior support was given on a project-by-project basis. EFP MD Renate Rose said, “this will allow the EFP the necessary lead time to develop our projects in the most thoughtful and effective way possible. It also demonstrates MEDIA PLUS’ confidence in and commitment to EFP and its goals”.
EFP activities for 2003 include several on-going projects at six international film festivals and markets: Shooting Stars at the Berlinale(6-16 February) and - incidentally, for the second year running also the “Touring Shooting Stars” event. Producers on the Move in Cannes (14 - 25 May). Variety Critic’s Week in Karlovy Vary (4-12 July).
