16/12/2002 - An immersion in Austria's most popular newspaper to understand recent political facts and the rela-tionship between media & politics

The documentary Krône, l’Autriche entre les lignes of the Belgian Nathalie Borgers has become an unexpected success in Austria. Since November 29, the film is screened at Votivkino in Vienna, and after two weeks around 2500 cinema viewers have seen this documentary about the ‘Kronen Zeitung’ journal, read by 43 per cent of Austrian population. The documentary takes a deep look at Austrian recent political events and the relationship between politics and media.
“This is very good for a documentary” has said Johannes Rosenberg from the co-production company Navigator Film. “Some documentaries don’t attract more than 500 viewers”. Since its beginning, the film has been moved to a bigger theatre because of the strong demand.
