Bavaria invests in cinema

During its last meeting for the year, Bavaria’s Film and Television Fund assigned Euros 4million for 21 audiovisual projects. All kinds of productions, ranging from actions films, comedies, cartoon features like Constantin Film’s Autobahnraser, documentaries and travel films. A total of Euros 2.152.500 was earmarked for films for theatrical release while TV productions will split Euros 1.435.000€. Three projects will also receive Euros100,000 for their development and they include the sequel to Maggie Peren’s Maedchen, Maedchen and Carolin Thumes’ Alpenblues. Six scripts will each be given Euros120.000. Three features, Das fliegende Klassenzimmer by Tomy Wigand, scheduled for release early next year; Goodbye Lenin! by Wolfgang Becker and Platzangst, a love story set against a background of Austria’s political right wing and made by the Potsdamer Sonnensegel Association, will each receive Euros315.000.
