PACT, the UK’s leading Producers’ Association has just named a new Director of Film: Ronnie Planalp, who succeeds Bertrand Moullier.
Most recently, Planalp was senior vice-president of new media/business development Europe for EMI. At PACT, she will have overall responsibility for devising and implementing PACT’s film strategy, and will work closely with the trade association’s executive team, its film policy group and producer Margaret Matheson, vice-chair of Film for PACT and managing director of Bard Entertainments.
“Ronnie’s strong extensive experience in the entertainment industry, coupled with her strong background in finance and business development will inject fresh thinking into PACT’s film initiatives and the UK film debate as a whole,” said Matheson. “Having already undergone radical change, the industry faces more over the next 18 months and PACT will be at the heart of the debate. Ronnie will be with PACT’s film members to develop a range of policies and ideas”.
Headed by CEO John McVay, PACT has over 1,000 members in the UK independent film, TV and interactive media industries.
